CHILLOUT. Leaf tea from a CBG variety — the acid CBGA in the leading role. A chill that is not sedation: a clear head, focus and quiet in the belly. A daytime tea with the most interesting compound in current hemp research.
What you are holding. 40 g of leaf tea from the leaves of a CBG variety of hemp. The leading compound: CBGA — the acidic form of cannabigerol, the “mother cannabinoid” from which the plant makes all the others. Made in Slovakia.
Why I added it
CBG is a compound spoken of ever more loudly in research — and differently from CBD. It is not associated with sedation but with a clear head and focus; its relationship to the digestive system and gut comfort is being studied; and laboratory work attributes antibacterial and antifungal action to it — that is, against bacteria and moulds. All of these are directions of research, not promises on my part — but they are directions for which the CBG variety has a place of its own in my range. CHILLOUT is chill in the original sense: not slowing the head down, but tidying it up.
Who it is for — and when I reach elsewhere
Day, work, focus — and days when the belly asks for quiet.
Anyone who wants to go down in the evening has RELAX. Anyone who wants no direction has BALANCE. Anyone expecting to get high from tea will get it from none of the three — leaf tea is not for intoxication.
How I prepare the tea+
Leaf tea is the plant in its raw state — and raw hemp does not contain cannabinoids as the world of oils knows them, but their acidic forms: CBDA and CBGA. An acid is the shape in which the plant itself made the cannabinoid — the precursor of CBD and CBG, with effects of its own that are now being studied intensively. Hot water converts part of the acids into CBD or CBG, part stays in the original form — so the cup carries both.
A heaped spoonful per cup, poured over with boiling water, covered and steeped for at least ten minutes — covering keeps the volatile compounds in the cup. And since cannabinoids dissolve in fats, I add a drop of oil or milk; the body then takes more from the cup.
Questions and answers+
A different molecule, a different action: CBD is associated with calm and release, CBG with clarity, focus and the digestive system. The plant makes CBG first — the others arise from it.
No — CHILLOUT is not a stimulant. It is a clear head without a racing heart.
Where to go next
The other two teas of the three.
